From the moment sports betting kicked off in Kentucky in September, gambling addiction counselors across the state knew they’d require more resources.

Now, four months in, it’s becoming increasingly clear just how much more is needed to meet the demand.

Mike Stone, executive director of the Kentucky Council on Problem Gambling, told WHAS11 that calls for assistance to the National Problem Gambling Helpline (1-800-GAMBLER) have doubled from last August to October.
